Popular souvenir of Onuma

Grilled pond smelt “ikada(raft) yaki” is one of popular souvenir of Onuma. It is a traditional preserved food, salty-sweet pond smelt on a skewer, which resembles a raft floating on a river.
They also produce “Tsukudani” which made of pond smelt and prawns taken from Lake Onuma, and boiled them in sweetened soy sauce. These are traditional tastes not to use an additive at all.
